The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Your initial appointment is generally a bit longer and includes a comprehensive (developmental) history and discussion of current needs/concerns.

Individual therapy will typically last 50 mins either in weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions, with realistic and recommended time frames for treatment discussed after the initial assessment has been completed (first 1-2 sessions).

It is vital to any therapeutic process that a positive connection is established between the psychologist and the family for all children/adolescents, and we will discuss a treatment or assessment plan that best fits with the child/young person and their family. Adult clients will also engage in an intake assessment and discussion of goals and realistic expectations for outcomes.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Confidentiality does not take precedent over safety concerns and any perceived harm to one's self or others is reported to the proper agencies in order to support the client.
